Walking festival leaflet is now available

We are pleased to announce that the Bollington Walking Festival is now available to pick up from various outlets in Bollington, including the Bridgend Centre or download from the website www.bollingtonwalkingfestival.co.uk.

We are super-excited about the event and hope to see you on a walk!

Change to advertised walk on Wednesday 2nd August

Due to very wet and muddy conditions on the original planned route for the Bridgend walk next Wednesday 2nd August, we are changing it to Heritage Trail 6 which goes to Higher Hurdsfield and back.

It is the same length and difficulty as the route planned at 5.5 miles and two boots.

If you have any questions about this, please do drop us a message.

National Lottery Community Fund

Great news! The Bridgend Centre has been awarded a grant of £9,585 to help fund our Drop-in Kitchen and Support service this year by the National Lottery Community Fund. This will allow us to continue supporting people when they drop-in to Bridgend for a cuppa and maybe someone to talk to. The National Lottery Community Fund

A huge thank you to the National Lottery, this is a great boost to our charity this year.

Mental Health First Aid course

There are a few more places available on this course that takes place next Monday and the Monday after at the Bridgend Centre. Run by local youth charity Just Drop In, it is for people who work with, live with or support young people aged 11-18.

It is a great course for the adults in a young person’s life to have the skills and confidence to step in, offer first aid and guide them towards the support they need. It also gives these adults the information and skills to look after their own mental health.

The course aims to give people the tools to open up these conversations, we can empower them to create mentally healthy, supportive environments in their families, schools, youth groups and communities.

Details on the poster on how to sign up. Places are free of charge.

Double the donations for Bridgend

Those lovely people at the Co-op have accepted the Bridgend Centre onto their ‘Warm Spaces’ programme. This means that every donation made to our Crowdfunding page will be matched by the Co-op. So if you donate, the amount will be doubled!

All money will go towards heating our drop-in kitchen cafe and activity rooms, which provide great places for people to come to, meet friends and have fun.

So if you can spare a donation, big or small, please go to:

It really will make double the difference!
